Tenneva Jordan expresses, “A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie”; my mother influences me in every single way and fulfills the duty of my role model. She exemplifies the characteristics of a pious Catholic. She inspires me to care about every single person through demonstrating love to each person in her life. Although her stressful and tedious career fatigues her, she continues to work diligently for the family and for herself. My mother gives me so many reasons to grow as a person who will appreciate my bad results and blessings.
My mother expresses every single quality of the perfect Catholic. For example, she influences me to participate in Church more by going to Church on days other than Sunday. Even though I have distractions during Mass and I never choose to go to Mass on any day other than Sunday, she encourages me not only to stand there physically in Church, but to also understand the spiritual aspect of Mass and to absorb new information from the Gospels. In addition, she has the ability to pray for a substantial amount of time. Through her example, I want to give up more time for God and spend less time with materialistic necessities. In addition, when my mother receivers a blessing from the Lord, she never brags; when life presents obstacles, she accepts them as a blessing in disguise. Sometimes I complain, but she reminds me that I have to thank God for both the good and the bad.
My mother loves each person and every single outcome that she receives with all her heart. For instance, even though a friend may hurt her, she just forgives him and loves him anyway. She teaches me to love the people who have hurt me even though they constantly cause me pain and purposely try to knock me down. Furthermore, she gives food off her plate to me because she wants me to stay healthy and nutritious; she thinks about the opposing person’s feelings and wants to make him happy. Her actions express that she puts others before herself, and they fill me with determination to do the same. Then, when she has a bad experience, such as dealing with her younger sister’s rude banter, she appreciates it and moves on. Even though the bad experience still affects her, she still shows me to appreciate the bad consequences and learn from them.
As a dentist, my mother works tediously day and night. First, she tries her best to please her patients, even her nitpicky patients. Her patience with her patients teaches me to care about others and to only pay attention to the other person’s feelings. Second, she works past her closing time to finish off a patient’s appointment. Her determination inspires me to never give up even when I lose hope and faith in myself. Third, she sacrifices her Sunday afternoon to travel to her office to finish off paperwork. Her responsibility inspires me to take responsibility in my duties and actions as well.
With my mother guiding me, I hope to develop into an adult whom she will take pride in. Therefore, I will try my best to exert Catholic-like qualities. Also, I will strive to love and appreciate every single person and every single result that I receive. Finally, I will work
