I may not be the perfect daughter that you want, but you’re the perfect parents for a daughter like me. I have failed to show you how much I love you, and I hope this makes up for that.
First off, I would like to thank you for everything you have given me that has made me happy. I know I ask for too many things that I don’t need, but through time I eventually realized that I don’t need them.
Daddy, you work so hard to support me, my sisters, and my brother. You work all day long no matter what the weather condition is like. You save and spend the money on us, never for yourself. You’re supportive in the activities that I want to do like when I joined band and tennis, and you always make time in your busy schedule to take me somewhere that I want or need to go. Thank you for going to my award ceremonies when I was in elementary school. Seeing you in the cafeteria made me so happy.
Mommy, you’re such a great mom. Like Daddy, you work hard to support us too. You wake up very early to get ready for work and take me to school. Starting this month, I don’t see you very often anymore, but that’s okay. You have a good reason for working all day long. Even though you’re very tired, you still do it for yourself and for us. With the little time you have, you still manage to spend some time with the family.
Whenever you talk about my bad skin, I get upset at times, but I know you only do that so that I can have a healthier life in the future. Like every other parent, you want us to have a good life.
I have never been that religious until this year when my dad let me go to a retreat with the Thieu Nhi kids. That weekend changed my perspective about everything, and I became closer to God. I pray more now, and I feel closer to my Church, family, and friends. I realized how I’m so lucky to have parents like these. Thank you for being there for me ever since I was born to now. I will love you no matter what circumstances come across us.
Your Daughter,
KĐN
